Apple Account Management
iPhone users will be required to manage and maintain their own personal Apple accounts for the purpose of:
Purchasing Apps
iMessaging
FaceTime
iCloud Backups
Apple ID accounts must be tied to the user's personal e-mail address and not the company account.
iTunes software - Users who wish to use this app should plan to use it at home and not in the work environment.
Wi-Fi Connectivity
Mobile '
data use
' plans are used to connect smart phones to the internet for email accessibility, media streaming and downloading data through a service provider's network. Service providers constantly monitor data usage and charge users in accordance with the plan agreement.
IPRO's iPhones have a built-in 'Wi-Fi' option to help reduce data use charges. When using Wi-Fi, a user will bypass our service provider's data network without incurring expensive data charges. It is strongly recommended you connect your iPhone to a secure Wi-Fi connection whenever possible.
Mobile Device Management (MDM)
This software app is a security portal IPRO requires on each of its iPhones that allows staff to securely connect to IPRO's Exchange/Outlook system.
Lost or Stolen Device
In the event the iPhone is lost or stolen, Blackberry allows IPRO's technical staff to remotely remove all company information which is especially valuable in the event a phone is lost or stolen. The option to remotely wipe the entire phone is also an option.
Password Protection
Blackberry requires a unique password of a minimum of 8 characters including a 'special character' (*, !, #). Blackberry is set to require a password after 10 minutes of idle time. This security setting is similar to the 'screen saver lock out' security setting on IPRO workstations.
Email Notification
Email received via Blackberry has an audible notification even when not logged into the service. A user can set different audible sounds to distinguish between email and an Outlook calendar appointment.
The Blackberry app has a calendar that integrates directly with a user's Outlook calendar. To access this calendar, staff must first log in to Blackberry.
NOTE: The iPhone 6 has a 'stand-alone' calendar that does not integrate with the calendar in Outlook.
